| This really is a big category. There's so much to talk about. As you can see by the links on the left, we're exploring the realms of stamps, inks, embossing techniques, and the cool stuff to stick on your stamping. There are references to the chalks, paints and markers, etc. that can be used to color in your stamping, but the majority of that information will be listed under those items directly. I have met a lot of people who are afraid of stamping. They have smudged more than a few projects, and have given up. Hopefully, we'll give enough tips and techniques here to get you back to loving your stamps. They are so versatile, and they can create layered effects in a unique way. Here's a brief description of what you'll find in those links: Stamps - a look at the different kind of stamps, what they can be used for and what to look for when buying them. Also, of course, we need to talk about how to use them. It may not be what you think. Inks - Okay, now we're getting somewhere... There's ink pads (pigment and dye), ink bottles, ink daubers, and watercolor markers. All of these are great (even necessary) for stamping - but which one to use? They all create their own effect. Embossing - In conjunction with stamping, we're talking about wet embossing. I'm sure we'll discuss dry embossing under another heading. I've heard some people shy away from wet embossing for fear that it is too messy or too complicated. I don't think it's either. Take a good look, and see what you think. Inclusions - Okay, we have our stamped image, maybe we've even embossed it - what else can we do. I'll give some hints - flocking, glitter, beads - have a peek! |
