We've looked at storing pens and markers - horizontally.
My mother is making me a great pen holder - I can't wait
to see it.  I'll post it when I have it filled!  *UPDATE* It's
over with Storage_Pencils and Pens.  I love it!!

You'll see that I use plastic shoe boxes a lot.  I use them
to store and label my decorative scissors, my small
tools, scraps, and small pieces for cards (made but aren't
on a card yet).

Baskets are great for larger tools, "blanks" (bought items
waiting for decoration - boxes, t-shirts, etc.) and extra
supplies.

My ribbon is stored in a photo box that I remade.  It
works just fine - it just doesn't hold enough ribbon!  I'll
have to make something bigger!

              Paper

How do you store all of that great paper?  Well, it needs
to be flat - and not layered too heavily, or you can't get to
the stuff in the middle without hurting the other pieces.  I
love the metal cubby systems - but I put a piece a tile
flooring on the bottom of each cubby to keep it from
making indentions on my paper.  I keep my colored card
stock on shelves, by color, in a cupboard made
especially for that - 6 feet tall, 13" x 13" and 27 shelves.

I keep my paper packs in those useful plastic drawer
bins by Sterling.  They fit 12" x 12" paper perfectly -
even the papers with the manufacturer's printed edge.  I,
also, keep my scraps in one (okay three) of those
drawers.
