I prefer a formal decorating style.  This is our table - it stays set throughout the holiday season.  The tree in this room is in coordinating colors - cream, gold, and mauve.

But we have children, and they always come first.  Our family tree goes up in the family room, and it has the ornaments they made, the ones they picked out, and the dated ornaments!

Well, the kids are off to school, and I'm getting ready for that tea, and a good browse through this year's Christmas Issues of some great magazines.  I can't wait to start making my plans for this year's Holiday.  I made the 50% off sale at Joann's yesterday, and bought the Christmas fabric I needed to make a whole ensemble for the family room - tree skirt, mantle cloth, stockings and pillows.  I will be busy!
