Catherine Johannsen has joined in the Craft Boutique, and will be adding her beautiful cards to our offerings. Welcome aboard!
The blog challenge asks if you could love more than one man at a time. And my answer is: are you crazy?? One is more than enough – trust me! My husband and I are hitting our 20th Anniversary this week, and with our busy lives and schedules – the idea of making time for another man seems laughable. I can’t even find time for all the things I have going!
No, the title of the Erma Bombeck book is perfect for me: A Marriage Made In Heaven (Or Too Tired For An Affair)!!

Here’s a Fall Card in our One Of A Kind Cards section of the Craft Boutique.
The blog challenge is about what item of clothing am I wearing a lot lately, and why. Well, I guess I’d have to admit to wearing denim legging capris. I own a lot of them – and I wear them all the time – almost every day. They’re comfortable, they stretch, and I have a few pairs that are well worn – so I don’t mind wearing them when I am working with glue and ink. I do hate to ruin good clothes with my art!

This is a Birthday KardBag set from a template set that I designed. The giftbag has gussets and the card, as well as they giftcard envelope all fit inside the main envelope and the whole gift set is mailable. I think it’s the nicest way to send a gift card.
The blog challenge is what book am I dying to read, and the answer (like so many other people out there) is “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”. It’s been a long and wonderful ride, reading about Harry and his friends. Of course, we all go see the movies as they come out, and we go to the midnight sales whenever a new book comes out. My kids are psyched and ready to go. The last time, my son asked me to stay up and find out who the Half Blood Prince was. So I did, and I told him. Only he told his dad, who didn’t want to know, but wanted to read the book for himself. So this time, my husband has said, “Don’t tell me anything about the ending”, and we won’t. I just hope the kids can keep it all in – or maybe this time my husband will it faster, and give us all something to talk about together!!

This is a General Greeting Card called Love Birds from designer Linda Dotterer. It’s a special addition to our Hand Made One Of A Kind Card Section.
The Blog Challenge asks if I am a saver or a spender, and there is no wondering about this. No one who knows me would give you any other answer about me – I’m a Spender – notice the capital S. I can’t help it, I come from a family of spenders, my dh is a spender, and we’re probably raising little spenders in our wake. As long as we realize we are responsible for generating the income, and spend wisely on things we really want – it’s not so bad

This is a card from a wonderful artist, Linda, who is teaming up with us to fill the Craft Boutique. As a military family with so many friends overseas at the moment, a card like this means so much to me.
I’m also answering the blog question of the day – if I could cure any disease what would it be. My husband just lost his brother to cancer, he was only 45 years old, and a single parent. The grief is so widespread, his orphaned son, and his mother (my mother-in-law) are in so much pain. I pray they find a way to heal.
I have so many friends who either have or currently are dealing with cancer of a loved one. It seems too prevalent to be true – how can breast cancer really hit 1 in 8 women. That’s staggering – I know 8 women, I know 80 women – will 10 of them be diagnosed? I know there are a lot of horrible diseases out there (AIDS, for one), but if I were granted the opportunity to cure a disease, from my personal experiences, I would start with cancer.

Here’s the special Recipe Box my mom made for the Craft Boutique Store. I just love it. It will make an incredible gift – with the cards all decorated and filled out with the recipes my grandmother loved.
I like to answer blog challenge questions, and this one was about my favorite adhesive. I must say, I think I’ve tried them all. Of course, some adhesives work better than others for specific projects (ie I find wet glues work better for heavier embellishments), but overall, I go through adhesive runners so quickly – that I finally just got an ATG gun. It’s the best sticking adhesive – bought in large quantities, I found it the cheapest – and I don’t have to refill it as often. So that’s the one I reach for the most. I’m looking forward to reading others’ replies.

It’s our Craft Boutique’s Grand Opening, and we are so excited. It’s not all up – but then again new items will be going in from now on! There are a lot more cards going in today, and the scrapbooking page layouts are scheduled next. And after that, some of our artists are currently creating hand crafted home decor items and altered art. There will always be new items going in, and sold out items will be removed. It’s “first come – first serve” in the world of the Craft Shows.
It’s $2.95 flat rate shipping and handling per order.
Pictured is our Solid Walnut Board Book. The pages are double sided chipboard (DCWV) that have been cut to size and had the holes lined up and drilled. One nice thing about solid hardwood – you can use real hardware if you wish! Real hinges or pulls or library book plates!
Our goal is to create the ultimate Craft Boutique browsing experience. No show admission, and we’re never closed! We hope you like what we’ve created!

The store is filling up, and the new web pages are being created! It’s been a lot of fun getting it all set up, and working with the different artists. I really think there’ll be some great projects that you will enjoy. Please know that the Craft Boutique (just like any Craft Show) is as much for browsing as it is for shopping – so we hope you’ll drop by and have a good time!
